Library Director

 

The Northampton Area Public Library is seeking an innovative, community minded, collaborative leader.

 

The applicant must possess a Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science and a Certificate of Public Librarianship, with at least 5 years of public librarianship experience. 3 years of demonstrated responsible administrative or supervisory experience is preferred.

 

Upon hire, the applicant must provide Act 34 Criminal Record Check and Act 151 Child Abuse History clearance.

The Library Director is the chief administrative officer for the library and as such has the ultimate responsibility for operations and human resources.  The Director advises the Board of Trustees on such matters as programming, finances, purchasing policies, strategic planning and other matters of significance. The director also develops grant applications and is responsible for the promotion of Library services and use.
