Interlibrary Loan Policy |
|
Interlibrary loan is a service offered to residents of the Northampton Area School District by the Northampton Area Public Library. If there is a book, journal article, music CD, book on tape or CD, video, or DVD that NAPL does not have, we can request it from other libraries.
All multimedia requests will only be filled by the Bethlehem Area Public Library. If they do not have that item, we will not be able to get it. We cannot request them from other libraries. In the case of a request for print material, we will search all participating libraries in the continental United States. Some requests take longer to receive depending on where the item is coming from.
All interlibrary loan items circulate for two weeks. You cannot renew these items online. If you need a longer period of time, please call the library and speak to any staff member.
When taking out an interlibrary loan item, you are responsible for the material. If it is damaged or lost, you will be charged a replacement fee by the lending library. If the item(s) are returned overdue, you will be charged 25˘ per day.
If you are requesting a copy of a journal/magazine article, there may be a fee charged by the lending library. You can let us know at the time of the request if you would be willing to pay a fee or not.
