Turn plastic bags into treasure by making plastic grocery bags into plarn (plastic bags + yarn = plarn). Plarn can then be used to knit or crochet all sorts of great household items from coasters to reusable market bags to pots for your household plants!

This take home kit will provide you with the materials and instructions necessary to crochet plarn coasters.

Don't know how to crochet? Handy sites for the basic stitches are provided which include directions, pictures, and videos.

Join us either virtually from the comfort of your own home or in person from the Community Room in the library to learn about Employee Rights in the Workplace from the Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist of the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division in Wilkes-Barre.

Francesca de Roca will begin with a presentation, which will detail the individual's rights in the workplace, followed by a question and answer period. Bring your questions, and she will do her best to answer them, general or specific.
