he Northampton Area Public Library is currently accepting applications for a part-time Children’s Program Assistant. The position involves assisting Children’s Program Director with programming, organizing displays and decoration of the Children’s Room to correspond with current programming or the seasons and preparing program craft materials. Also performs a wide variety of general library work in public services to assist patrons with daily operational needs of the Library, such as circulation and shelving library materials as needed.
Candidates should be enthusiastic, service-oriented, creative and capable of communicating effectively with a wide range of people. The position is 20 - 25 hours per week and the applicant must be able to work days and nights.
Applicants must be able to use Microsoft Office, search the web and be able to learn TLC Library Solution system. Prior customer service experience is preferred. New employees are required to obtain a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and an FBI Background check.
