Rachel R. (Young Adult Coordinator)

Genres:  History, historical fiction, Humor, fantasy, young adult/teen

Why?  I am a student of history - love it, any time, any place, any culture, although my favorite era is 18th and 19th century Europe, particularly Scottish history.  This also explains why I like historical fiction.  But when I'm looking to lighten things up a bit, humor is my go to.  And if I want just a really good story, young adult fiction is my first stop (especially since I read all the reviews for teen fiction in order to help maintain the yound adult collection).

My top 5 books

  1. "Outlander" (series) by Diana Gabaldon (F Gab)
  2. "Founding mothers: the women who raised our nation" by Cokie Roberts (NF 973.3 Rob)
  3. Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (F Eva)
  4. "You suck: a love story" by Christopher Moore (F Moo)
  5. Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer (YA Mey)
