DIY Wands - Teens

Create your very own wand!  Whether you are a fan of Harry Potter or want to use it for your next costume, this DIY will be magic.  

All materials will be provided in a kit, available for pick-up at the library.  You must be registered online to receive a kit.  Video tutorials will premiere on Youtube and Facebook at the given event time.

Happily Ever After Writing Challenge (K-5th)

Do you ever wonder what happened after the "Happily Ever After"?  What happened that made it so happy or maybe it wasn't happy at all?  Think of your favorite fairy tale that ends with "Happily Ever After" and write about what happened after.

There will be prizes awarded for 2 age categories - K - 2nd grade and 3rd - 5th grade.

Prizes will be a basket with school supplies!

Lego Build Challenge (K-Grade 5)

Theme :Castle Seige

Rules: Build a castle from Legos or a building material of your choice.  
Build a catapult from Legos
Make small balls from aluminum foil

Does your catapult work at launching the foil projectiles?
How far and high did the foil projectiles fly?
Was your castle protected from the seige or did the opposition win the battle?

Winner based on the answers to the above questions.  Don't forget to send photos to info@northamptonapl.org!

Chopped Cooking Competition

You and your family can participate in an at home Chopped Competition!.  The library will provide a list of ingredients (this will be emailed to you in the morning of April 23 to the email address you provide during registration.  (No NASDkids.org emails please)  and you will pick 4 ingredients you have to include in your meal.  You will have 30 minutes to create a main dish.

Minecraft Virtual Event - Teens

Join us for a virtual Minecraft event!!  This is an event where you can participate in the comfort of your own home.  When registering for this event, you will need to provide an email address (No NASDkids.org addresses, please) and your Minecraft user name.  The evening before the event, you will be emailed a link to the private Minecraft server and the rules.  You will not be able to access the server until Saturday morning.  You will be whitelisted by an administrator to be able to join the server.

The library will provide dessert type you are to make (this will be emailed to you in the event reminder email sent to the email address you provide during registration.  (No NASDkids.org emails please)  You will have an allotted amount of time to prepare your dessert.
